Recent Progress on Metamaterial-inspired Antennas

چکیده
Many attributes of metamaterials have led to the consideration of engineering metamaterialinspired structures for a variety of applications. This includes the miniaturization of resonators and their use for improving the performance characteristics of electrically small antennas from the microwave region up through to the optical region. Achieving higher directivity from electrically small antennas by introducing structured ground planes has been considered successfully. Active metamaterial constructs have been introduced to increase the bandwidths at low frequencies and to overcome the losses at high frequencies. They have led to recent non-Foster antenna designs which have some preliminary experimental results. Thus the development of an efficient, high directivity, large bandwidth electrically small antenna is rapidly becoming a possibility.

متن کاملEfficient Isolation between Electrically Small Metamaterial-Inspired Monopole Antennas
In this paper, a new electrically small metamaterial-inspired monopole antenna is presented. It consists of a simple square-shaped coplanar waveguide (CPW-fed) monopole with an embedded complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). It operates at three distinct frequency ranges around 2.45, 4.2, and 5.8GHz, with low return loss and uniform radiation patterns, making it a perfect candidate for mode...

Here we present a comparison analysis on the single loop resonator (SLR) inspired triple-band monopole antennas. Two configurations with rectangular and circular shaped radiation patches are presented. Simultaneously, two feed techniques with coplanar waveguide and microstrip feeds are performed to drive the antennas. And the conventional planar monopole antennas without the SLRs are also analy...
